Start with approved inputs
Materials and packaging components should be aligned to the current production brief before they enter a run. This creates a point of reference for incoming checks, line setup and any exception that needs to be recorded.
Control the run and the pack
In-process controls are not limited to the filling step. They also cover the identity and condition of packaging, the correct artwork version, closure and cartoning checks, and the reconciliation of controlled printed materials where applicable.
Review the record before release
A batch record brings together what was made, which components were used, what checks were completed and how deviations were resolved. The disposition step should be traceable to that record and the released packaging configuration.
