Create one approved artwork source
Use a master file and a named version for every printable component. The brand, technical reviewer and production team should all know which file is approved for the next run, rather than selecting from files with similar names.
Review copy in the finished pack context
Text, required statements, symbols and language variants need to be checked as they will appear on the actual pack. A flat artwork file can miss issues that are visible only after scale, wrap, print finish or carton placement are considered.
Close the loop on printed materials
The production record should identify the version used and provide a way to reconcile controlled printed materials. When a label changes, its effect on the component file, production brief and released artwork should be visible.
